Reader’s feedback

In 1922, Japanese newspaper Ashasi Shimbun (Tokyo) created the Reader’s Rights Defence Committee, which took the name of Ombudsman, from the figure in the Swedish Parliament. Called watchman or watchdog most of the time, the ombudsman’s role is to monitor and safeguard the professional ethic of the Media to ensure high quality information and to support the readers.
